Frédéric Médail is Professor of plant ecology, biogeography and conservation biology at Aix-Marseille University (France), IMBE Institute (Mediterranean Institute of Biodiversity and Ecology, UMR CNRS/IRD).
His main topics of research are the biogeography and conservation of plant biodiversity at several geographical scales, from conservation genetics to macroecology, in the Mediterranean Region and the Sahara Desert.

Milena made a master degree in Biodiversity, Ecology and Evolution and after a 6 months internship in the Integradiv project she got a 3-years grant from Aix-Marseille University to develop her PhD within the Integradiv consortium. Her thesis aims to understand the ecological significance of terpene emissions from trees in the Euro-Mediterranean basin.
